The new book, [Learning Science: Theory, Research & Practice](https://www.mheducation.com/news-media/press-releases/mcgraw-hill-releases-new-learning-science-book.html), features a chapter about our work, *Designing Immersive Authentic Simulations That Enhance Motivation and Learning: EcoLearn*, by Chris Dede, Tina Grotzer, Amy Kamarainen, and Shari Metcalf. It describes our work over the past decade with EcoMUVE, EcoMOBILE, and EcoXPT, affordances of immersive media (multi-user virtual environments, augmented realities) for motivation and learning and how the design of these three curricula draws on theoretical and conceptual principles from the learning sciences.
